Cardamom prices rose by 2.93 per cent to Rs 1,124 per kg in futures trade today after speculators enlarged positions supported by good buying in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for May contracts rose by Rs 32, or 2.93 per cent, to Rs 1,124 per kg, with a trading volume of 26 lots.
The spice for delivery in June was trading up by Rs 15.10, or 1.47 per cent, to Rs 1,038.90 per kg, with a business volume of 508 lots.
Traders said rising export and spot demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions, pushed up cardamom prices at futures market.
