Cardamom prices today rose by Rs 5.80 or 0.75 per cent to Rs 777.30 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged positions supported by good buying in the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May rose by Rs 5.80 or 0.75 per cent to Rs 777.30 per kg in a business turnover of 69 lots.

In a similar fashion, spice for delivery in June gained Rs 5.30 or 0.64 per cent to Rs 833 per kg in 5 lots.

Market analysts said besides rise in demand in the spot markets, tight supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
