Cardamom higher by 2.2% on rising spot demand

Speculators enlarged positions supported by rising spot market demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices rose 2.17% to Rs 807.40 per kg in futures market today after speculators enlarged positions supported by rising spot market demand.

Besides, tight supplies from producing belts too supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose Rs 17.20, or 2.17%, to Rs 807.40 per kg in a business turnover of 301 lots.

In a similar fashion, spice for delivery in October gained Rs 12, or 1.49%, to Rs 814.30 per kg in 58 lots.

Market analysts said besides rise in demand at the spot market, tight supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices trade higher in futures trade.
