Cardamom prices marginally up on spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices were up by 0.04% to Rs 761 per kg in futures market today as traders built up fresh positions, driven by improved demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February was trading marginally higher by 30 paise, or 0.04% to Rs 761 per kg in a business turnover of 4 lots.

However, the spice for delivery in January held steady at Rs 715 per kg in 75 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators due to improved demand in the spot market helped cardamom prices to trade marginally higher at the futures trade.
