Cardamom up 0.9% as demand picks up

Amid pick up in demand in the spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, cardamom prices were up by 0.86% to Rs 953 per kg in futures trading today as participants created fresh positions.

In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August went up by Rs 8.10, or 0.86% to Rs 953 per kg in business turnover 8 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in September contracts traded higher by Rs 5, or 0.53% to Rs 949.40 per kg in 61 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to uptick in domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against tight stocks on restricted arrivals from producing belts.
