Extending its rising streak for the third straight day, cardamom rose by 1.01% to Rs 850 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December advanced Rs 8.50, or 1.01%, to Rs 850 per kg, in a business turnover of one lot.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 3, or 0.37%, to Rs 820 per kg in 105 lots.

Market analysts said a firm trend at spot market on rising demand against restricted supplies from producing belts, mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
