Rising for the second straight day, cardamom prices advanced by 0.29 per cent to Rs 809 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month February rose by Rs 2.30, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 809 per kg in business turnover of 220 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in January contracts traded higher by Rs 1.80, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 810.10 per kg in 10 lots.

Market analysts said increasing positions participants amid good demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions, kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
