Cardamom up 1.1% on rising demand

Spice for delivery in August gained 0.39%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices rose 1.14% to Rs 911 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions amid a firm trend at spot market on rising domestic and export demand.

Besides, tight supplies from producing regions in the physical market, further fuelled the uptrend.

Cardamom for delivery in September rose by Rs 10.30, or 1.14%, to Rs 911 per kg in a business turnover of 153 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in August gained Rs 3.60, or 0.39%, to Rs 930.50 per kg in 51 lots.

Market analysts said besides rising domestic and export demand in the spot market, restricted arrivals from growing regions led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
