Cardamom falls by 3.6% on muted spot demand

Cardamom prices fell by another 3.60% to Rs 650 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced their positions, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions in the physical market weighed on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November declined Rs 24.30, or 3.60%, to Rs 650 per kg in a business turnover of 56 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in December eased by Rs 3.60, or 0.47%, to Rs 759 per kg in 74 lots.

Marketmen said besides easing demand in the spot market, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts, kept cardamom prices lower at futures trade.
