Cardamom prices fell further by 0.23 per cent to Rs 779 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in reducing positions amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August month declined by Rs 1.80, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 779 per kg in business turnover of 109 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September contracts weakened by 80 paise, or 0.10 per cent to Rs 777.80 per kg in 11 lots.
Market analysts said apart from easing demand in the spot market, ample stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
