Cardamom prices fell further by 2.01 per cent to Rs 1,233.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand.

Besides, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions, weighed on cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May declined by Rs 25.30, or 2.01 per cent, to Rs 1,233.50 per kg, in a business turnover of three lots.

Analysts said trimming of positions by participants, driven by easing demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts, mainly kept cardamom prices down at futures trade.
