Cardamom futures rise 0.26% as demand picks up

Cardamom prices edged higher by 0.26 per cent to Rs 1,154.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions after uptick in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March edged higher by Rs 3, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 1,154.50 per kg in a business turnover of 6 lots.

Traders said fresh positions built up by participants due to pick up in demand in the physical market against tight stocks position on supplies from producing regions influenced cardamom prices in futures trade.
