Cardamom rises by 0.3% on spot demand

Speculators indulged in enlarging positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices moved up by 0.27% to Rs 950 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in enlarging positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February next year moved up by Rs 2.60, or 0.27% to Rs 950 per kg in business turnover of 77 lots.

Similarly, cardamom for delivery in January edged up by Rs 1, or 0.11% to Rs 920 per kg in 181 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators supported by rising demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing belts mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
