Cardamom prices edged up by 0.46 per cent to Rs 1,186.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, driven by uptick in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October rose by Rs 5.40, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 1,186.90 per kg in business turnover of 5 lots.

Analayts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to fresh positions crated by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
