Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices climbed 1.32 per cent to Rs 1,552.30 per kg in futures trade today on speculative buying following strong demand in spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March shot up by Rs 20.20, or 1.32 per cent to Rs 1,552.30 per kg in business turnover of 112 lots.

The February contract of the spice edged up by Rs 2.90, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 1,508 per kg in 13 lots.

Analysts said prices firmed up due to fresh positions by traders owing to good domestic as well as export demand in spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
