Cardamom prices drifted lower by 0.40 per cent to Rs 1,145 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their exposure amid subdued demand in the spot market.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 4.60, or 0.40 per cent to Rs 1,145 per kg in business turnover of 17 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants due to easing demand in the physical market against adequate stocks mainly weighed on cardamom prices at futures trade.
