Continuing its losing streak for the fourth straight day, cardamom prices shed another 0.89 per cent to Rs 1,015 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in reducing positions, taking negative cues from spot market on tepid demand.
Besides, ample stocks position on higher supplies from growing regions, too weighed on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April fell by Rs 9.10, or 0.89 per cent to Rs 1,015 per kg in business turnover of 11 lots.
Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts kept cardamom prices lower at futures trade.
