Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices drifted further lower by 1.12 per cent to Rs 1,102.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut bets, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand.

Further, ample stock position against higher arrivals from major cardamom producing regions also fuelled the down trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April contracts fell Rs 12.50, or 1.12 per cent, to Rs 1,102.10 per kg in business turnover of 36 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in March contract shed Rs 5.10, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 1,087 per kg in 18 lots.

Traders said offloading of positions by participants on the back of easing demand in the physical market against adequate stock position kept cardamom prices down in futures trade.
