Cardamom futures declined by 0.37 per cent to Rs 1,429 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand against sufficient stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March fell by Rs 5.30, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 1,429 per kg in business turnover of 42 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in April contracts shed Rs 2.50, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 1,403 per kg in 56 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at domestic spot market on muted demand against adequate stocks position mainly kept cardamom prices lower at futures trade.
