Cardamom down 0.4% on profit-booking

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices softened by 0.39% to Rs 824.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders locked-in gains amid easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July declined by Rs 3.20 or 0.39% to Rs 824.50 per kg in a business turnover of 3 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in August contracts weakened by 40 paise or 0.05% to Rs 855 per kg in just one lot.

Analysts said besides profit-taking by participants, fall in demand in spot market against ample stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
