Cardamom drifted lower by 1.38 per cent to Rs 1,525.10 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March fell by Rs 21.40, or 1.38 per cent to Rs 1,525.10 per kg in a business turnover of 3 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 17.90, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 1,488 per kg in 31 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand against sufficient stocks position mainly led to the decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
