Cardamom futures drifted lower by 1.41 per cent to Rs 830.20 per kg in futures trading today as participants locked-in gains at prevailing higher levels amid fall in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June declined by Rs 11.90, or 1.41 per cent, to Rs 830.20 per kg in a business turnover of 126 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in July contracts shed Rs 4.20, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 871.40 per kg in 6 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-taking by traders at existing level, easing demand in spot market against adequate stocks position mainly pulled down cardamom prices at futures trade.
