Cardamom prices today rose by Rs 5.10 or 0.68% to Rs 747 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged their positions supported by good buying in the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February rose by Rs 5.10 or 0.68% to Rs 747 per kg in a business turnover of 445 lots.

In a similar fashion, spice for delivery in far-month March gained Rs 3.90 or 0.52% to Rs 753.90 per kg in 49 lots.

Market analysts said besides rise in demand in the spot markets, tight supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
