Rising demand at spot markets against restricted arrivals from producing regions influenced cardamom prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices rose by Rs 8.40 to Rs 870 per kg in futures trade today, largely in tandem with a firming trend in spot markets.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for July delivery surged Rs 8.40, or 0.97%, to Rs 870 per kg in a business volume of just two lots.

The spice for delivery in August gained Rs 3.80, or 0.46%, to Rs 812.40 per kg in a business volume of 117 lots.

Traders said rising demand at spot markets against restricted arrivals from producing regions influenced cardamom prices in the futures market.
