Cardamom down 0.3% on sluggish demand

Spice for delivery in July contracts traded lower by 0.20%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom remained weak for the second straight day and prices fell further by 0.33 per cent to Rs 793 per kg in futures trade today.

Adequate stocks position in the market on higher supplies from producing belts mainly pulled down the cardamom prices.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August eased by Rs 2.60, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 793 per kg in business turnover of 8 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in July contracts traded lower by Rs 1.60, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 815.50 per kg in 161 lots.

Market analysts said, offloading of positions by speculators due to subdued demand in the market against adequate stocks, kept cardamom prices lower in futures trade.
