Cardamom prices down on subdued demand

In limited deals, prices of cardamom brown fell by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today due to easing demand demand from retailers and stockists prevailing at higher levels amid adequate stocks.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on the cardamom brown prices.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices declined by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,430-1,440 and Rs 1,530-1,870 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down cardamom prices.

Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 670-870, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,430-1,440 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,530-1,870.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 550-670, cardamom (colour robin) 570-580, cardamom bold 590-600, cardamom extra (bold) 670-680 and cloves 540-640.
