Cardamom prices moved up by 1.77 per cent to Rs 1,338 per kg in special Muhurat trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by an uptick in spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December rose by Rs 23.30, or 1.77 per cent, to Rs 1,338 per kg, in a business turnover of just one lot.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 16.60, or 1.30 per cent, to Rs 1,292 per kg in 42 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by traders, who opened their new accounts on the first session of Samvat year 2073, mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
