Cardamom small rises on increased demand

Cardamom small prices rose by Rs 5 per kg on the local kirana market today on increased local demand for the ongoing marriage season.

However, other spices moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Marketmen said increased local demand in view of marriage season pushed up cardamom small prices.

In the national capital, cardamom small chitridar, colour robin, bold and extra-bold were enquired higher by Rs 5 each to Rs 660-760, Rs 610-710, Rs 660-710 and Rs 810-910 per kg, respectively.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 520-650, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000- 1,090 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,270.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 660-760, cardamom (colour robin) 610-710, cardamom bold 660-710, cardamom extra (bold) 810-910 and cloves (kg) 855-925.
