Cardamom up by 3.1% on rising demand

Participants widened their positions amid pick up in export demand

Cardamom up by 3.1% on rising demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices were up by another 3.06% to Rs 817 per kg in futures trade today after participants widened their positions amid pick up in export demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February was up by Rs 24.30, or 3.06%, to Rs 817 per kg, with a business turnover of 477 lots.

The delivery in March also went up by Rs 14.70, or 1.87%, to Rs 797 per kg, with a trading volume of 124 lots.

Market analysts said the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to tight supplies from producing belts against rising spot and export demand.
