Press Trust of India Hyderabad
Hyderabad-based CARE Hospitals Group today announced the opening of hospitals at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

The Group said it has signed an agreement with Marble City Hospital, Jabalpur, to operate the facility as part of the CARE network on an operations and management (O&M) contract, through its Nagpur-based subsidiary Ganga CARE.

The hospital, with a capacity of 200 beds, would mark the entry of CARE Hospitals into Madhya Pradesh.

"This is the third O&M contract by CARE Hospitals in the last six months, and each offered an access to new territories and increased depth of coverage, apart from being a good geographical fit with our existing network," said Dilip Jose, Group CEO of CARE Hospitals.

This month, CARE also added a unit in Visakhapatnam by long-term lease of a standalone hospital to meet the growing demand for tertiary healthcare in the coastal city. With this, CARE now has three hospitals in Visakhapatnam with combined bed strength of 400.

These additions take the Group to 17 hospitals across south & central India with a capacity of over 2,400 beds, it was stated.
