Funnyman Jim Carrey has released a spoof video 'Cold Dead Hand' which mocks the gun rights lobby and features actors dressed as Mahatma Gandhi, John Lennon and Abraham Lincoln.

In the video, 51-year-old Carrey is dressed as late actor and former National Rifles Association President Charlton Heston, reported New York Daily News.

"Some people hate when I talk about guns so I decided to sing about it! 'Cold Dead Hand' is about you heartless unwilling to bend for the safety of our kids. Sorry if you're offended by the word safety!(sic)," he tweeted.

"Over a million people have been killed by guns in the US since John Lennon was shot. Look no further than your own back...(sic)."

His reference to Lennon comes days after Beatle's wife Yoko Ono posted a picture of his blood stained glasses to raise her voice against gun rights lobby.
