Cyberabad Police today registered a case against a class IX student of a private school after he allegedly misbehaved with a class II girl of the same school inside a washroom.

After the alleged incident that took place recently, parents of some school children gathered in front of the school at Malkajgiri here and protested against the school management "for not taking any action" over the issue, police said.

Police intervened and inquired the matter with school management, who lodged a complaint alleging that the boy had followed the girl in a washroom of the school 10-days ago and cut her hair besides misbehaved with her, a senior police officer said.

"After the complaint, a case under relevant provisions of the Nirbhaya Act has been registered against the boy," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Malkajgiri Zone) Rama Rajeshwari R told PTI.

"We will take up a thorough investigation into the matter and the facts will come out. The parents are also alleging that the girl was sexually abused. We need to examine the girl as well as the boy. Only then this can be ascertained," the DCP said.

"Whether the boy was playing any mischief or prank with the girl or whether he really misbehaved, needs to be probed," the senior police officer said.

After the alleged incident, parents of the girl brought this matter to the notice of the school management who for the past 10-days were conducting counselling sessions in the school. However, no complaint was lodged with the police, she said.

Some media reports claimed that the girl was videographed in the washroom.

Further probe is on.
