Reacting to CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan's statement in this regard, Chandy said here 'it is the CPI-M which is viewing the issue politically and in a wrong way'.
"How can a government remain silent after revelation by a person of a matter of such magnitude," Chandy asked and said the government was committed to maintain law and order and was carrying out its responsibiity.
Chandy also took exception to CPI-M's attitude towards the investigation into the murder case of Revolutionery Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekheran and said government would not allow anybody to block the probe 'using force'.
CPI-M was actually challenging the rule of law by taking law in their hands, he said adding it was the Naxalites and Maoists who usually challenged the rule of the law.
Police had registered two cases against Mani on charges of murder, abetment and concealing information based on his speech at Thodupuzha.
Meanwhile, police filed FIR against Mani in the cases filed against him in a local court in Idukki.
