District police said that on July 27, there was a scuffle between Kumar Goswami and his family members with the NTPC officials at Ghorapat village here.

The officials had gone to the village to take possession of the land acquired by the NTPC, which was occupied by the Goswami family.

One of the members of the family- Rushi Goswami had filed a private complaint with the magistrate court, which earlier this week asked the police to register a case of assault and intimidation against the NTPC additional general manager K Lingayya, manager Sanjiv Paul and others.

According to police, NTPC had provided alternate houses to the Goswami family, but they were not happy with the provision.

Police are probing the case and no arrests have been made yet.
