Case against Sangeet Som in road blocking incident adjourned

The hearing in a case against BJP MLA Sangeet Som and others for allegedly blocking roads in Civil Line area here during a protest five years ago was today adjourned till December 22.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate adjourned the hearing after Som's lawyer sought exemption for him from appearance in the court.

According to the prosecution, the Civil Line Police had filed a charge sheet against Sangeet Som and four others for allegedly violating prohibitory orders and blocking roads in Civil Line area on February 17, 2009 while protesting against law and order situation during BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh.
 

Som, who is also an accused in the riots here last year, was with Samajwadi Party then.
