"A case under various relevant sections was lodged in Goraya police station against SGPC member Kulbir Singh Badapind for plotting terror activities after objectionable items were recovered from his house," SSP (Rural), Yurinder Singh Hayer, said.
The step was taken after a Mauser pistol, 6 live ammunition, cleaning substance for arms, night vision binoculars, two walkie talkies, bulletproof jackets and seditious literature were allegedly found among other things at Badapind's residence here.
He had been arrested yesterday in neighbouring Nawashehar district as a precautionary measure during Bharat Bandh.
Badapind was produced before a magistrate earlier today and was remanded in five days police remand.
