Case lodged against Peace Party president for improper remarks

A case has been lodged against Peace Party chief Dr Ayub and some other leaders for alleged violation of poll code.

Ayub and party state president Mannan were booked last night for making "inappropriate" remarks at a public rally here yesterday, District Magistrate Vikash Godhalwal said today.

Ayub had yesterday attacked BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying Muslims of the country were afraid of him ever since the post Godhra riots in 2002.

He had also warned Muslims of Samajwadi Party, saying its president Mulayam Singh Yadav is a "wolf" under the garb of a goat.

Another FIR was lodged against party's district president Farooq Ali and candidate Masood Alam for violating prohibitory orders and Model Code of Conduct and taking out roadshow, he said.
 

The DM said that though permission for roadshow had been taken but the number of vehicles were more than the permitted numbers.
