Case of cheating against car show-room employee

Police have registered a case of cheating against a woman employee of a car show-room here for duping the customers as well as her employer of total of Rs 10 lakh.

The complaint against the accused, Swagata B Tagare (29), under sections 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 465 (forgery) of the IPC was registered yesterday.

She has not been arrested yet.

According to sub-inspector P D Londe of the Naupada police station, Tagare worked at Sai Point Honda showroom and her job involved facilitating RTO passing of the cars and handing over registration certificate (RC) book to the car buyers.
 

It is alleged that she collected the requisite charges from the buyers, but did not deposit the money either with the employer or the RTO, while giving the car buyers forged certificates.
