Case of misappropriation of govt funds against edu institute

A case of misappropriation of government funds and cheating has been registered against an education institute for allegedly claiming scholarship amount by faking the actual number of students.

According to a press release issued by police, the (late) Rahulbhau Bommawar College of Management and Technology, Chamorshi, misappropriated the amount of scholarship issued by the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) by showing bogus students on the college roll.

The college is run by Shri Sairam Bahu Uddeshiya Gramin Vikas Sanstha, Saoli.

On the complaint lodged by ITDP project officer, an offenece was registered with the Chamorshi police station under various sections of IPC against Rohit Bommawar president, Rakesh Pedduwar (vice president), Vijay Kurrewar, secretary, Suraj Bommawar, treasurer of the Sanstha.
 

All the accused applied for anticipatory bail before a sessions court here but it was rejected. Since then all the accused are absconding, said Ravindra Patil, police inspector.

The case is also registered against eight other institutes for the same offences and investigation is on, he said.
