A search is on for a couple who looted 60 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs 65,000 cash, after tying a woman inside her house at Fingerpost in this tourist town, police said today.
The woman was watching television last night, when the couple entered the house after breaking open the window glass in the rear of the house, they said.
When she raised an alarm, the man and woman assaulted her, tied her with a rope to the cot and decamped with the loot from the almirah.
As there was no response to his phone calls for long, her husband rushed there only to find his wife tied and things looted.
Police, including the SP, Senthilkumar, visited the spot.
