Cash recovery agent robbed of 10.6 lakh, 2 arrested in Delhi

A cash recovery agent was robbed of Rs 10.6 lakh in northeast Delhi and two men have been arrested in connection with the robbery, the police said today.

On October 21, a man named Vinod Kumar informed the police that while returning to Nangloi in his car he was robbed of Rs 10.6 lakh by four unidentified armed assailants at Gokalpuri flyover, they said.

Police analysed the CCTV footage from the area and found that two motorcycles were following the victim's car.

On the basis of CCTV footage and questioning of local sources, Mohd Asif, 23, was arrested on Wednesday and Rs one lakh was recovered from his possession.
 

His associate, Firoj, 24, was arrested yesterday and Rs 1,17,900 was recovered from his house, the police said.

The arrested persons revealed the names of their other associates as Matloof alias Chikna, Raju alias Arif and Naseem, who are absconding at present, said AK Singla, deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast).

Naseem had planned the robbery. He is carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head by the Delhi Police's Special Cell, the police said.
