The announcement was made after GNLA militants are on an terrorising spree in the three Garo Hills region forcing the security forces to the edges.
"As an incentive, any person giving information leading to the arrest of the following persons will be financially rewarded," Director General of Police N Ramachandran said in a release.
"Quietly give us a ring and discharge your responsibility as a citizen," he said.
Apprehending failure to nab these militants due to the terrain and climatic condition of the region, the state police have also announced a cash award of Rs 5 lakh on 12 other leaders of the militant group, including the Deputy C-in-C Rupanto R Marak besides a cash award of Rs 1 lakh on information leading to the arrest of any cadre carrying AK 47 riffles.
Yesterday, an unarmed branch constable of the state police was arrested for maintaining link with the militants and 10 demand notes of the outfit was recovered from his possession.
"Information on over-ground workers (such as the constable) who are involved in money collection on behalf of GNLA and any information leading to the arrest of important over ground workers will also be rewarded, the DGP said.
The police also pleaded with citizen of the state to aide the police force to neutralise the militant outfit which is gaining grounds in the three Garo Hills region and in pockets of West Khasi Hills district.
