An amount of Rs 1,40,000, kept
to be deposited in the bank, was stolen from the office of the Milagres Our Lady of Miracles Church here, police said.
The cash, kept in three separate cash boxes in the office was to be deposited in the bank today. The keys of the cash boxes were left in the table drawer, church sources said.

The only watchman who was at the front gate was reported to be unaware of the incidents.
The theft was detected when the church office was opened by the parish priest Fr Valerian this morning.
A CCTV footage showed an unidentified man with his face covered entering the church compound from the backside of the office. He entered the office by cutting the window rods, police said.
Finger print experts visited the spot. A case has been filed at the Pandeshwar police station and investigations are on.
