Cashew rises on increased buying, paucity of stocks

Cashew prices rose by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today on increased buying by retailers and stockists amid paucity of stocks due to fall in supplies from growing regions.

Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 865-875, Rs 765-775, Rs 645-655 and Rs 535-575 per kg, respectively.

Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against tight supplies from growing regions, mainly pushed up cashew prices.

Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):

Almond (California) Rs 18,000 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,000-8,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,500-4,800; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
 

Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 625-645 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg.
