Castorseed prices fell by Rs 24 to Rs 4,111 per quintal in futures trading today following profit booking by speculators at prevailing levels coupled with a weak trend at the physical markets.
Marketmen said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, ample stocks following increased arrivals and slackness in demand at the spot markets weighed on prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in February month contracts slipped by Rs 24 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 4,111 per quintal, having an open interest of 23,880 lots.
Castorseed for delivery in far-month March contracts also dropped by Rs 21 or 0.50 per cent to Rs 4,154 per quintal, showing an open interest of 17,570 lots.
