Castor seed prices were up by another Rs 79 to Rs 4,675 per quintal in future trading today as traders widened their bets amid a firm trend at spot markets.
Marketmen said expanding of positions by participants, driven by firm demand at the domestic spot markets amid thin supplies, mainly kept castor seed prices higher at the futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castor seed for delivery this month was trading higher by Rs 79 or 1.72 per cent to Rs 4,675 per quintal, with an open interest of mere 30 lots.
Castor seed for delivery in May month too posted a rise of Rs 73 or 1.56 per cent to Rs 4,747 per quintal, while open interest stood at 98,830 lots.
