Castorseed prices dropped by Rs 59, or 1.19%, to Rs 4,900 per quintal in the futures trade today as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in domestic spot and overseas markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in December declined by Rs 59, or 1.19% to Rs 4,900 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,07,250 lots.
On similar lines, castorseed for delivery in this month contracts dropped by Rs 51, or 1.05% to Rs 4,810 per quintal, in an open interest of 89,070 lots.
Marketmen said off-loading of positions by participants amid a subdued trend in domestic spot markets due to fall in demand and weak global cues, mainly weighed on castorseed prices at futures trade here.
