Traders create positions as higher export offtake fuels uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Castorseed prices spurted by Rs 114 to Rs 4,380 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators created positions at prevailing lower levels driven by rising demand at spot markets

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for delivery in April shot up by Rs 114, or 2.67 per cent, to Rs 4,380 per quintal with an open interest of 3,020 lots.

The February contract gained Rs 27, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 4,270 per quintal in an open interest of 1,21,660 lots.

Marketmen said the rise in castorseed prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to rising domestic as well as overseas demand.
