Castorseed prices fell further by Rs 42 to Rs 4,306 per quintal in futures trade today as participants indulged in trimming positions amid a weak trend at the domestic physical markets.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for April contracts lost Rs 42, or 0.97 per cent, to Rs 4,306 per quintal, having an open interest of 99,950 lots.
The prices for March also fell further by Rs 35, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 4,241 per quintal, with an open interest of 19,180 lots.
Marketmen said, cutting down of positions by traders in tune with a weak trend at the spot markets mainly weighed on castorseed prices at futures trade here.
