Castorseed sheds 0.57% on selling pressure

Traders exit as higher arrivals from producing belts, lower industrial offtake exert pressure on prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Castorseed prices declined by Rs 23 to Rs 4,022 per quintal in futures trading today owing to increased selling by traders amid weak sentiments in physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for February delivery fell by Rs 23, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 4,022 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 73,420 lots.

The March contract lost Rs 21, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 4,075 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 71,860 lots.

Marketmen said increased arrivals of castorseed and slackness in industrial demand in spot markets mainly put pressure on prices in futures trade.
